Simon Fuller and XIX Entertainment’s nature docuseries SERENGETI took home the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing’ for a Non-Theatrical Documentary at the 67th Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards this weekend.
The sound editing team who received the award are Paul Cowgill (Supervising Sound Editor), Peter Davies (Foley Editor), Alessandro Baldessari (Music Editor), and Paul Ackerman (Foley Artist).

The first season of Serengeti (narrated by Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o) premiered on the Discovery Channel in July 2019 to phenomenal reviews. Across the US, the docuseries was “the highest-rated nature documentary in six years” (Billboard) and “Sunday’s most-watched cable program” (Hollywood Reporter).
The UK version aired on BBC One in August and is narrated by John Boyega (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Imperial Dreams).
