LOS ANGELES & LONDON, 7 February 2020
Lola Lennox today releases her debut single In the Wild.
The track, written by Lennox and Jon Green, is an intimate ballad that reflects a toxic relationship. “The verses depict a depressive, grey city, a suffocating feeling,” explains Lennox. “The chorus is a dreamscape, fantasising about letting go of the issues to make something work even when you know deep down it’s not the right choice.”
‘In the Wild’ comes hot on the heels of a busy end to 2019, during which time Lennox wrote and recorded several songs for Simon Fuller and XIX Entertainment’s Serengeti (2019). The nature docu-series aired in the UK (narrated by John Boyega) and USA (narrated by Lupita Nyong’o) on BBC One and the Discovery Channel respectively.
We can expect three more singles from Lennox in 2020 – ‘Pale’, ‘Lalala Love Me’, and ‘Back at Wrong’ – and even though Lennox has said she enjoys writing sad, slow songs, we can expect her coming music to represent all different moods.
