London 29th November 2018
Last night SKAM AUSTIN won the award for Best Digital Short Form Drama Series at the C21 International Drama Awards held in London. The Award was collected by XIX Global Head of Communication Julian Henry, who thanked creator Julie Andem, XIX founder Simon Fuller and Facebook’s Ricky Van Veen in his acceptance speech. SKAM AUSTIN was shortlisted for the Award after a critically acclaimed first season that ran through the early summer, watched by a peak of 14 million views per episode.
SKAM AUSTIN was created by Julie Andem, is produced by XIX Entertainment for Facebook Watch and tells the realistic and authentic stories from the lives of American teenagers. The series offers an unfiltered look at what teens are dealing with head on, with stories and relationships that unfold across multiple social media platforms. Like Season One, the content on Season Two (scheduled for 2019) will roll out in “real time,” from the scenes on Facebook Watch to the posts on the characters’ Instagram profiles.
